Kellogg's Cornflakes production lineSeventh Day Adventist Dr John Harvey Kellogg and his brother Will filed a patent for the cornflakes process in 1895 when they invented the cereal as an adjunct to the strict vegetarian diet at their Michigan sanitarium.  Sugar was added to the flakes when they were first mass-marketed in 1906. In 1924, the first Australian Kellogg’s plant was set up at Botany.
